Articus creates innovative theatrical experiences that obliterate boundaries between ground and sky through a fusion of theatre and circus.

We are a performance company that fuses theatre with aerial artistry to surprise, delight and empower our audiences. From jaw-dropping acts for corporate events and weddings, to street-style shows for festivals and fairs, to full-scale theatrical productions built for touring, we aim to infuse everything we do with a hint of the unexpected and a whole lot of the extraordinary.

Based in Kitchener-Waterloo, we run a hub for training and creation in the innovative Factory space of Lot42, where we teach students about pushing boundaries through our aerial classes for kids, youths and adults. We have been touring our work to festivals, events, and venues across Ontario since 2014. Our team of artists are professional aerialists with an equally strong background in theatre and years of experience teaching circus arts to adults and youths. We create custom shows for events and festivals, and tour our feature shows to performance venues.

Vision

To be a world-class performance company that empowers and uplifts everyone we work with, teach and perform for, drawing them into the present moment and taking them beyond perceived limitations through a fusion of theatre and circus.

Mission

We deliver surprising, exciting and empowering experiences that lift the human spirit and redefine possible by bringing the extraordinary into the lives of our students, audiences and clients.

To fulfill this mission, we:

  • Take corporate and social events to the next level with our innovative, inspiring entertainment and our unwavering commitment to our clients.

  • Use our unique fusion of theatre and circus to create shows of various sizes that tour theatres, venues and festivals throughout Ontario and beyond.

  • Strive for excellence in our recreational and professional training programs through continuous research and development in the fields of aerial arts and theatre.

  • Commit to the development of our training space as a hub for the convergence of theatre and aerial arts by creating opportunities for artists, collaborators, teachers and audiences to gather and grow around our work in Kitchener-Waterloo.
